1 Knights win shootout out Heniz Field on Fri Mar 12, 2010 8:22 pm

Rutgers came into Heniz field with alot of question at the QB position. Well a new star may be budding forthe young Knghts. Sophmmore RB Kordell Young exploded today for over 200 yrds on the ground as Rutgers and Pitt shot it out in a game that featured 8 lead changes,80 combined points and over 1,00 yrds of offense. Rutgers would win the shootout 42-38. When asked how he felt after the game, Coach ryan simply said "It felt like we played this game twice." Ryan had to look for a new star since QB Tom Savage is out for the season and backup QB DC Jefferson is out for a month. Freshman Mike Latimer stepped up and threw for over 200yrds and 2 TD's. The play of the game is when Young took the ball with 6 secs left and scampered 9 yrds and plunged into the endzone as time expired in the first half to pull Rutgers within 3 at halftime. Rutgers will have one more stop on this brutal road trip when they go next week to Morgantown to battle the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Scarlett Knights are 3-1 and are ranked for the 2nd time this season. Good news is that Ryan seems to have some weapons to replace the injuries and they all seem to be very young.
