#6 Iowa beats #21 Minnesota on Senior Day 34-24

"We thought this was going to be hard fought game and it was", Coach Kendrick says at the post-game press conference. "Every time we would get up 10-14 points Minnesota would put together a drive and put some points on the board, it drove some of our coaches a little crazy with some of the plays they made on 3rd" but Iowa was able to step up when in critical times.

The most critical play of the game came late in the 4th qtr, after Minnesota returned a Ricky Stanzi interception 90 yards for a touchdown and cutting the lead to 7. "On that last possession we faced a 4th and 3 on the 48 yard line I felt that we were set up perfect for the fake punt" says Kendrick, "I knew that if we punted that ball away with 3 mins to go, and their offense coming to life, we would be in trouble." That fake punt turned into a 14 yard run by back up RB Brandon Wegher which allowed Iowa to hold the ball 2:34 of the remaining 3 mins.
"This was a great way to go out on my Senior Day", Stanzi says. Stanzi finished the game going 20-28 for 283 yards and 3 Tds.

Did Wisconsin and Iowa play in the regular season or are we looking at a split Big Ten Champion? Sorry for all the posts. On a 4 hour Webinar on NJ Law at work. So boring. So took the time to update the forums. LOL

Haha that's cool the more posts the better. Wisconsin and Iowa did play so Wisconsin would take it over them, but Northwestern only has one Big Ten loss and did not and does not play Wisconsin this year, so we could be looking at a tie there

Ya they suck, which is why I am glad that the Big 10 is looking to expand, they are the only conference with the possibility of a split. But I still have a feeling that Northwestern will lose another game

Big East and Pac 10 can split too. I think that they should realign all the confernces and independents and make 10 conferences with 12 teams and each have a conf championship. Then take the 10 champs and 6 at larges and have a 16 team playoff. that is my playoff example.

I know the Pac 10 can't because they play 9 games so that their is always a tie breaker because everybody plays each other, and I thought everyone played each other in the Big East as well, but not as positive. That would be a good idea but the BCS Conferences would never allow it unfortunately

2008 USC was a split champion. They both can split if there is a 3 way tie where 1 team beat one and loss to the other and the other team loss to the 1 but beat the other. Who's on first? LOL

Oh well that can happen in any conference and is really unavoidable. It happened in 2008 in the Big 12 with Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma
