Austin, Texas

For most of the year the experts claimed Oklahoma State was a fraud,a joke, a product of easy scheduling. "They have played all their difficult games at home and how good were those teams they beat anyways?", claim one national expert. "Wait till A&M comes in, then we will see how good they really are", they all said. Well, Texas A&M came in to Stillwater and promptly left with their first loss in 21 games. Then came even more detracters,"OSU got luck, A&M finally had a bad game, wait till next week in Austin. They will be exposed"......They were all wrong.

In a wild shoot out in Austin, the Cowboys showed their true grit. The kind of grit only national championship contenders have. "We played so bad!" says Coach Kendrick, "everything we preached for them to do they didn't do yet we somehow won."

"The first half was the worst we have played all year", Coach Kendrick says. "Brandon had 4 ints, a fumble and a number of bad throws that should of been picked..I almost pulled him." Despite those interceptions, Brandon Weeden somehow found the endzone three times in the first half including a 45 yarder to put the Cowboys up 21-17 going into the half. The second half was was much cleaner. Texas came out on the first drive and scored from 7 yards out to go up 21-23 but would miss the extra point. On the insuing kickoff, return specialist Isiah Anderson did what he does best, change games. Anderson returned the kick 96 yards for a TD to put the Cowboys back up and thats where the lead would stay has the Pokes win 38-30.
