Twenty of Coach Davis' closest friends and family made the 40 minute drive to the Big House from his hometown to see his Boilermakers take down the Wolverines 28-10. Purdue's defense was solid again giving up only a touchdown and a field goal. A key stop was made on Michigan's first drive when the Wolverines opted to go for it on 4th and inches inside the red zone. Bad call by Brady Hoke.
The offense kept the ball primarily on the ground, with 3 rushing TD's. 1st string TE Gabe Holmes was knocked out for the season with a dislocated hip, but replacement Sterling Carter pulled in a touchdown catch.
Denard Robinson was shut down late in the fourth by multiple sacks, including 2.5 sacks from LE Gerald Gooden. This gives Purdue Bowl Eligibility (6-2) thanks to a 3 game Big Ten win streak. The Boilermakers hope to continue their winning ways next week at #8 Wisconsin.
Top Players:
Gerald Gooden: 6 tkl, 2.5 sacks
Ralph Bolden: 173 yds rushing, 1TD
