Scouting Reports

I am in a couple of other leagues and we do scouting reports on other users each time we play. In real life, coaches can trade films to get information. I think a section for offensive/defensive tendancies/styles would be pretty helpful.

That sounds like a really good idea. But kind of confused about exactly what you mean but just let me know and we can get it started.

Offense- Likes to run first, second, and third. Had his stud freshman contained most of the game until he broke a long td run off a sweep in the fourth. Seriously, this guy is going to be a beast. Give him a crease and he is gone. Likes to run ace big speed option in short yardage and goaline situations. Used it as his 2pt conversion play.

Defense- Ran the 2-4-5 most of the game. Blitzed his two outside lbs/upright de most of the game along with the occasional nickle back blitz. Very hard to run on this d because the best way to attack it, up the middle, is taken away by his user controlled mlb. He has very good stick skills with him so stay away from any long developing runs. Most success I had passing was slant routes and a couple deep throws when he called an inside blitz and I escaped the pocket.

Special teams- He muffed a punt, but ended up stopping me anyway. Made a 56 yd field goal. Great coverage with his user player on kickoffs



That is a report I wrote on another player in a league I am in. They can be more detailed, less detailed, or whatever. Just some basic tendancies/offensive playbook/style/playmakers/ect.

Also, it works best in the forum in you create a separate category like in game recaps, then have a separate heading (like 2009, 2010, ect.) for each team that way we can just create a new thread each time we play a user.

Ok that sounds good. I guess we will just start that from now on, because it would be hard to recall from past games. But I will go set up a place for it right now

i can see why you would want it in here but im not feeling it at all. why should i help my opponents to try and beat me. again i understand coaches do it and all but to tell you the truth i already did this the last 2 years of this OD. its called look at stats and it pretty much sums it up for you how that person plays.

You aren't saying about yourself though you are telling us about other people so you don't have to say anything about your own game.

But of course like I always say it is whatever you guys want. I went ahead and started it to get the ball rolling but I can always take it away. Of course one issue is the fact that there are guys that are more active and guys that are less active which could cause problems as to how much gets posted.

ya if you really think about what 4 maybe 5 guys 6 at the very most post alot on here and there are 10 in this dynasty. marxshut doesnt say a word, texasfight just came back, and all the others who are quit. but still i think its kinda dumb that we can give away how other people play the game when they should learn it themselves.

I can go either way so it's what everybody else thinks. There are arguments to both sides as stats don't tell the whole story and with you not getting to play everybody every year you won't get the chance to know a guys style until you play him and then you learn what he does and may never play him again

If there was a way to watch other teams games then it would be perfect but there isn't

ya that is a feature they need for 11.

Ya it would be nice, but I'm afraid it will take up too much space on their or whatever

personaly i dont think it makes a difference at all to me i mean really like i look up stats aswell and it didnt make much of a difference i knew wisconsin would be run first then play action deep to toon, i knew cko would spread the ball around to everyone weather its deep to green or runs with whoever his stud rb was, but i still think they oth provide the same info so honestly i dont care

Its really not a big deal either way. The only benefit to it is knowing the playbooks that a player uses. Honestly, in the league where people actually do them, they only helped for the first two seasons. Now there are plenty of reports on everybody and things seem to just get a little heated. I know I hate posting a report after a loss.

I guess we can just get rid of them, because I don't think they would be updated by everybody properly and evenly. But I really liked the idea, I just wish there was a more effective way to pull it off

I am seeing this for the first time. I would be in favor of having them but I guess i am weighing in too late. I do see King's point in that it will not be kept up to date. We can't seem to get all game recaps done. So I guess I will continue to look at the stats and the game recaps that are in the system.

As for posting after a loss. I always derfer to the team that one if it is a user game. I think they should have the honors. If I lose to the CPU even though it is hard I still do a quick recap.


P.S. you can learn alot from people's recaps.

Ya after a loss in a user game I usually just let the winner do the recap, but if the winner would like me to do it I usually have no problem doing it, such as in the case with me and Russ.

Ya you're right, you can learn a lot about how a person plays from the recaps.

It's probably too late to start it anyways, because this season is almost over and we are looking at a maximum of two more seasons before 11 comes out.
