Coach Anthony Herr had hid debut game against big time rivals Notre Dame and his performance seemed to show that there are obvious needs that need to be addressed. Herr stated "We looked pretty good across the board, but we seemed to lack a little in our secondary. Everywhere else we seemed to execute. Starting running back Ralph Bolden showed signs of having a great season but then was injured in the first quarter and was out for the rest of the game. Backup Keith Carlos came in and carried the team on his shoulders the best he could and did a really good job." Purdue has a long road ahead of them in order to become a legitimate threat in the Big 10 but with a couple good years from coach Herr the Boilermakers should be a top the conference.
