The Mississippi State Bulldogs were making to make a statement for the second week in a row. Last week they beat the #11 Auburn Tigers and this week they were facing the #9 LSU Tigers. The Bulldogs wouldn't disappoint their crazed fans in the home opener. MSU got off to a rough start as they trailed 17-7 as the game approached halftime. The Bulldogs had looked terrible to that point only having one solid drive and only stopping LSU from getting points once. With just under 3 minutes left Relf charged in for a TD to cut the lead to 3 and after a stop MSU only trailed by 3 going to the half. The Bulldogs were back in it and the Relf TD would turn out to energize the team. MSU would kick a field goal to tie the game and then on the next drive a pick six gave them the lead for good. The Bulldog would score 13 more unanswered for a total of 30 unanswered points. Each team would score a meaningless TD late in the game to push the final to 44-24. The Bulldogs move to 3-0 and look to continue their climb in the rankings. Next week they face a Minnesota team who has looked tough the first couple of week with 2 wins including a win over MSU's bitter rival Ole Miss.
