The #4 ranked Stanford Cardinal defeated the Arizona Wildcats at Arizona Stadium, by the final score of 31-17.
Arizona stopped the Cardinal on a goal line stand on Stanford's first possession of the game which led to points for the Wildcats to put them up 7-0. Later in the second quarter, Stanford would put up their first points with a field goal from 26 yards out, putting the score at 7-3 Arizona. The Wildcats would strike back quickly, scoring a touchdown less than a minute later on a 72 yard pass from Nick Foles to D. Douglas to put them up against the #4 ranked Stanford Cardinal. However, Stanford wouldn't let them have the lead for long as they would score 2 touchdowns before the half would end, to put them up by the score of 17-14 at halftime.
Arizona would score its only points of the second half with just over 2 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter, on a field goal from 31 yards out. Arizona's hopes of a 4th quarter comeback were killed when his underthrown pass was picked off and taken the other way by Cardinal defender B. Browning to put them up 24-17.
