Wisconsin Badgers @ Illinois Fightin' Illini, Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois Wisconsin-badgers2@ Wisconsin Badgers @ Illinois Fightin' Illini, Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois IllinoisFightingIllini

On a beautiful day in Champaign, Illini fans entered Memorial Stadium hoping their (4-3)fighting Illini could compete with conference foe and national powerhouse (6-1)Wisconsin, and they did(for the first 2 drives)as they chose to get the ball first and scored on their first 2 plays on 2 passes to junior WR AJ Jenkins. Wisconsin and the Illini both punted on their next drives. However, after Wisconsin put their first points up on the board with a 3yd TD pass to WR Nick Toon, tieing the game up at 7 a piece, they wouldnt look back. It was 7-7 after 1.

Illinois started off the second with the ball, their drive looked promising, but they were forced to punt after 2 consecutive sacks by the Badger dline. Wisconsin would again be on the board very quickly. They only needed 2 passes, both of which went Toon's way, he scored on an 8yd pass from QB Scoot Tolzien. Illinois couldnt come up with anything on their next drive as they punted for a third time. Wisconsin put up their third touchdown on a QB Sneak by Tolzien to make the score 21-7 Wisconsin. However on Illinois' ensuing drive, the Badger defense forced an interception which was returned 40 yards by junior CB Devin Smith. Then the next Illini drive ended with another interception, this time by Badger LB Kevin Rouse. That Wisconsin drive ended on a 41yd TD pass to Nick Toon, his third of the day. The score would be 35-7 Wisconsin at half.

The third quarter was quite for the Badgers, however, the Illini took advanatge of their one of two drives and scored on a 26yd option run which was finished by Illini running back Josh Ford, however the missed PAT would put the score at 35-13 in favor of the Badgers, which would also end the third.

The fourth wasnt as quite for the Badgers as they stopped the Illinois offense on 4 downs inside the Badgers red zone to start the fourth and after another Illinois score Wisconsin would again put points up as they scored on a 13yd TD pass to Nick Toon, which would break the record for most reception in one game in Wisconsin Badger football history, that score also tied him for the most receiving touchdowns in a career in school history with 27, hes a junior. But that wasnt the end of it, after an Illinois punt, Badger running back Zach Brown broke afew tackles and was off to the races as he took it 63 yards to the meatrack. Still not over, on Illinois' next drive, a bone crushing hit by SS Jay Valai forced a fumble which was recovered and returned for a touchdown by CB Marcus Cromartie. That would be the final discovery of paydirt for both teams and the final score would be 56-21 Wisconsin.

Coach Colosimo had this to say after the game. "After the way we played last week, we showed we had more in the tank. I told these guys before the game to hold nothing back on this team, we wanted to show the world what we could have done and should have done all season long. Im very proud of these guys."
