UCLA Bruins 2011 Football
Offense: UCLA will run a one back offense this season very similar to Alabama's. The starting QB will be the 6'2 Jr. Richard Brehaut. Brehaut is an average QB but he managed the game and doesnt turn the ball over, that is why he is ahead of Kevin prince, for now. Jr. Running back John Franklin will be UCLA's offense this season. He is a very hard runner will good speed. They plan on getting him the ball in all sorts of ways. UCLA has two very tall and very talented wide receivers. They will get the ball in the redzone like no other. If UCLA had a better qb these guys would get the ball alot more than they will, but still expect them to be major parts in the offese. The Bruin o-line is very average with 4 startin seniors and one sophmore. The best linemen is RT mike Harris. Look for the bruin offense to rank high in the pac 12 this year on their quest for the Rose Bowl.
The Bruin defense is a 3-4 scheme built on attacking. They are gonna swarm to the ball then punish the ball carrier. They are also gonna strip and intercept the ball. The defense Line consist of two Jr's, and one is a Soph. The talent is average at best nothing special but the y are very massive. with the average height is 6'4 and weight is around 280. Look for these boys to clog the middle. They are also very deep with good backups at each position tn hat could come in and make plays. Linebackers are again another average group like the defensive line. The two OLB will be able to hold their own but the interior guys may struggle through the year. The ROLB #11 sean westgate is the playmaker of the D and the captain of the D. He is underssized but makes up for it in speed and skill. Look for this Senior to have a very big year for the Bruins. The Seconday is one of the best in the Pac-12. The corners are good and fast. they will get beat some but they will also make lots of plays. Look for Sheldon Price to lead the corners this year. At FS we have the senior Tony Die. This kid is an all around playmaker. Hes arguable the best safety in the conference. Look for Dye to get alot of recognition later this year. At SS UCLA is starting a talented Soph. who still has much to learn but in time he will be extremelyl good. IMO this defense has just enough skill to succeed in this conference. The defense will carry this team all the way to a rose bowl!!
