GG Davis...this game was a reckoning for the Defence as they had endured a tough week on the hotseat after their first two games of rather mediocre play. The question was would they man up and dominate or wilt like daisies on a hot summer day? On this day...they manned up BIG TIME with 5 picks and holding RB Bolden to under 50 yards rushing on the day. Including a pick on their own 2 yard line that was returned 98 yards for a touchdown that at the time took the game from a potential 7-3 Purdue lead to a 10-0 NC State lead which was a lead that would never be given up.
At the half the Boilermakers made some adjustments on D and were able to hold the Wolfpack off the scoreboard, but the damage was done and Purdue was only able to addd a FG to the scoreline for a final score of 23-3.
Mustafa Greene had a rushing TD and over 100 yards rushing on the day and WR TJ Graham chipped in with some key catches and over 100 yards receiving. Although Glennon had a pedestrian 100+ passing day he did not throw for a TD but also did not throw any picks.
NC State improves to 3-0 on the season and looks forward to its week 4 opponent.
