**Game Note** I had to play this game twice. I won the first 62-0 but as the game was uploading the scores it froze

This game was a whitewash right from the beginning as TTU came out with a swagger and did not take the Rhinos lightly.

J. Karam was on his game early as he threw 2 TD passes in the first quarter to K. Williams and J. Amaro for a quick 14-0 lead before the stands were even full! Those two majors were then followed up by an electrifying punt return by D. Mays for 56 yards and the score that had the Lubbock crowd on their feet and definitely looking forward to a shootout!

The second quarter was just as disasterous for the Rhinos who must have felt way overmatched as the K. Williams show got started on an 80 yard run that was hilighted by a few broken tackles and the major! Karam then hooked up with Amaro again before Williams scampered 34 yards for the TD and a 42-0 halftime lead for the Red Raiders.

In the third quarter TTU took the foot of the gas a bit but Williams was able to reach the end zone twice on runs of 6 and 15 yards while the Rhinos were able to move the ball but missed 2 chances at FGs with one miss coming from not much over 25 yards out as the ball hit the uprights and bounced out.

In the fourth, the Red Raiders kept the ball on the ground but the Rhinos were just not able to make the tackles needed to bring down Williams as he struck 3 more times for TDs of 22, 3 and 8 yards to give the Red Raiders it's forst win of the season and first win for Coach A. Matthews in Lubbock. Over the course of the game great field position was enjoyed by TTU thanks to the returns of D. Mays who ran a punt back in the 1st quarter for a TD but almost had another in the 4th before he was brought down at the 2 yard line.

Hilights

TTU - 718 total yards, 208 in the air, 346 on the ground, 146 punt ret

J. Karam - 10 for 13 208 yards and 3 TDs
K. Williams - 29 carries for 331 yards and 7 TDs + 1 Rec TD
J. Amaro - 80 yards receiving
A. Fisher - 21 yards receiving
M. Kennard - 50 yards receiving

D. Mays - 146 punt return yards and 1 TD

TTU Defense - 9 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, 1 FF, 1 Fumble Recovery

When asked about the game Coach Matthews said that he was happy with his teams performance but that it was against an inferior opponent and it wouldn't matter much to what TTU would have to contend with during the season. This one is behind us and now it's time to prepare for the real schedule to begin. The coach did say that he was impressed by the team that he has inherited and that the Defense especially impressed him and that the offense was well balanced and that would be something that would have to continue during the rest of this season if the Red Raiders were gonna hope to contend for the BIG 12 Championship!

Next up for TTU is Troy.
