Aggies Struggles Spread Like Disease
College Station, Texas-A week ago on the road much was made of the struggles of the Aggies defense, but the news got even worse today for the Aggies faithful as the struggles spread to the offense. The offense had seemed unstoppable in the first five games but against a undersized and outmatched Missouri defense could not get anything going. First year starter Tannehill threw two picks that were both poor reads and throws. The sophomore seems to be getting into a slump over the last two weeks as he has throw four picks as opposed to only one in the first four games. Russell again failed to get to the century mark and has not shown as much talent and promise since the first two ball games. The real trouble seems to be up front where the offensive line looked weak and soft. Missouri hit them in the mouth and the A&M front line backed down. You could see a clearly frustrated bunch of players all came, and for the first time all year the Aggies failed to find the endzone settling for 7 field goals. If there is any consolation for A&M it is that their defense looked much better against the Tigers. The Aggies run defense was stout, and the Tigers threw for fewer yards than anybody all year. A&M held off a late Missouri surge to win 21-13. Next week A&M will travel to a tough, upset minded Nebraska Cornhuskers where they will need to get all their problems straightened out or will suffer a devastating blow.
