#4 Wisconsin vs #7 Mississippi State
For the second week in a row the game of the week features two teams that are very much alive for a national championship berth. The Wisconsin Badgers had a stiff challenge from Big Ten foe Iowa last week and survived while Mississippi State won in the closing seconds against powerhouse Alabama. This is the second game of the week for Mississippi State (Texas A&M) and the second in a row for Wisconsin (Iowa). Wisconsin suffered a tough loss earlier in the season to a good Penn State squad but has bounced back since then. The Bulldogs are victims of two undefeated teams (Georgia and Texas A&M) and they had both on the ropes, but let them slip away. For the Badgers a win this week should solidify has them as a top team, and they should not fall the rest of the year, and with some help they will be in the National Title game. Ironically that help will most likely need to come from the Bulldogs. If the Bulldogs can beat Georgia in the SEC Championship then Wisconsin would more than likely get into the big game. Mississippi State has a much clearer path to the title game it appears, all the have to do is win it. If they are to beat Wisconsin, Florida, Ole Miss, and Georgia the polls will more than likely catapult them into the top in the BCS standings. However this is a risky plan because everyone know how screwy the polls can be. If the Badgers are to make it to the title game it will be behind the hands and feet of star receiver and Heisman candidate Toon. Toon has had a monster year, and nobody has been able to stop him, but it will be interesting to see who else will step up for the Badgers if someone takes Toon away. For the Bulldogs their young receiver corps has been incredible, lead by Heisman candidate and Freshman Reggie Young. Young is a burner who creates matchup problems all over the field. This game is being hyped up to be a thriller and one can only hope it lives up to the expectations.
