Coming off the bye week, Cal looked good early. However, the INT situation still has yet to resolve itself as Bridgford threw 3 this week. The defense played well enough to hold Arizona in check and held them to 2 of 12 on 3rd down. The offense showed signs of the offense of last year at times. Take away the 3 INTs and Bridgford had a splendid game throwing for over 300yds and for 3 TDs. The most important part of the game was the emergence of a suitable running game, the duo of RBs and a little option play from Bridgford provide enough rushing attack to complement the deep passing and allowed for several deep throws, a thing that has been missing in past weeks. While the game was far from perfect for the Golden Bears, it was a decent outing to prepare Cal for the most difficult 2 weeks of the season as they take on #14 UCLA next week and head to LA for a rematch against #4 USC that very well may decide who takes home the conference title at the end of the year.
