Texas A&M Gets Revenge on Pokes; Punches Ticket to Big Game
Kansas City, Missouri-Snowy Kansas City played host to this year's version of the Big 12 Championship Game in what was a highly anticipated rematch featuring the top ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys against the third ranked Texas A&M Aggies with the winner of the game all but clinched a spot in the BCS National Championship. The Aggies wanted this game bad as the only loss they suffered in the past two season came at the hands of this very Oklahoma State team just a few weeks prior. This game was never really in question as A&M jumped on the Cowboys early and refused to let up. Tannehill was terrific on the ground and in the air as he went for over 100 yards throwing and rushing. The lone senior on offense, Jeff Fuller, broke the school record for reception, yards, and touchdowns in a year and added onto his totals in this game. The Aggies kicked off and after holding Oklahoma State to a punt ran off 21 unanswered points and held took a 24-7 lead into the break. Ryan Williams, Thorpe Award finalist, broke the heart of all Oklahoma State fans on the opening kickoff of the second half as he took it all the way back for a 31-3 lead. From there on in the Aggies coasted their way to victory 41-20. A&M should secure a spot in the National Championship with that win, and will get a chance to defend their crown.
