UPSET IN AUSTIN!!! The streets in East Lansing was in an uproar all night following the lickin Michigan State put on Texas on their home turf. Taking advantage of several Texas miscues, Michigan State beat up on Texas to the tune of 41-3. While neither team looking amazing, Michigan State took every break given to them and made Texas pay deeply. Texas missed 3 FGs and were flagged 7 times, several in which caused first downs to be called back. While the missed FGs and penalties were bad, the worst was a fumble on a drive into Michigan State territory and would've put them within 3 points, but instead Michigan State would recover the fumble and scamper 68yds for the TD and they would never look back. Michigan State's offense continued to impress the coaches as RB L.Caper would top the 100yd mark for the 3rd straight game. Michigan State continues their brutal stretch of the season as they take on an equally difficult foe in Wisconsin as they open Big Ten play.
Coach B had a few words to say after the game, "We played our hearts out today, I'm extremely impressed in our boys. They didn't listen to a word everyone said about us not having a chance today. We had a good week of practice then we came out and executed. We had some lucky breaks, that fumble towards the beginning of the 2nd quarter gave us all the momentum add we just rode the wave to a solid win. I can only hope we can play like this next week."
Players of the Game:
Michigan State: RB L.Caper 25 att, 154 yds, 2 TDs
Texas: SS K.Robinson 9 Tkls, 2 TFL, INT
