Purdue came out ready to play against Penn State after their disappointing 17-2 performance against Minnesota last week. The defense continued their strong effort, while the offense found its grove.
Penn State received the ball to start the game. They promptly drove down the field to a first and goal. At 3rd and goal from inside the 1 yard line, Purdue made a stop. Penn State was called for holding, but Purdue declined. Penn State went for it on 4th and goal inside the one and scored on a play action pass. That would be all of Penn States offense for the game.
The Boilermakers offense was strong on every drive. The only hiccups were a missed 56 yard field goal and a botched extra point attempt.
The win moves Purdue closer to Bowl Eligibility at 4-2 (1-1). Next up rival Illinois at home
