The Golden Gophers improved to 9-0 with a 42-21 victory over the Spartans after trailing 21-7 in the 3rd quarter they managed to reel off 35 straight pts. The Gophers were dealt a big blow however losing starting QB Marques Gray in the 1st quarter to a broken collarbone, Gray is expected to miss the rest of the season. Tom Parish filled in nicely and got the offense rolling well especially in the 2nd half leading them to 35 pts after the break. He finished the day completing 9 of 12 passes for 156 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT and added 43 yards rushing and 2 TD's on 13 carries. Duane Bennett had a big day rushing 21 times for 175 yards and 3 TD's. Next up the Gophers will host Wisconsin.
