Purdue won convincingly at home against Ohio State today. This puts the Boilermakers at 8-2 (5-1) for the year, with a shot at winning the Big Ten Leaders division. Next up Iowa at home.
Purdue jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the 1st half on 3 rushing touchdowns by HB Ralph Bolden. Late in the 2nd quarter, Ohio State drove the ball down the field and looked like they were going to make it a game. With 17 seconds left in the half, Boilermaker MLB Dwayne Beckford seemed to leap out of no where to take the ball away from the receiver and run it back 81 yards for a touchdown, putting the Boilermakers up 28-7 at the half.
The game was out of hand in the second half as the Boilermaker scrubs ran the clock down for a 42-14 win.
The loss drops the prestigious Buckeyes out of Bowl Contention at 3-7. Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell will likely lose his job over this. Perhaps Ohio State will hire Urban Meyer to replace him...
