Boston College Comes Up Short on the Biggest Stage
Miami, Florida--Both Boston College and Oregon State were looking to win their first national title but only one could do just that. Oregon State drove down and scored on their first drive and BC came back but missed a long field goal. BC would shut down Oregon State the rest of the half while scoring a TD of their own to tie it and drive towards the end of the half. Time would run out on the Eagles though and they would come up with no points. The second half would prove to be a struggle for BC. Rettig threw a season high 3 INTs. The coaching staff regrets throwing as much as they did because their ground game was so effective that there was little need to throw. Williams ran the ball a career high 30 times for just under 200 yards on the game. The turnovers would see BC get in a big hole heading into the fourth. BC chipped away but it was too little too late as their final drive ended in OSU territory. BC had its greatest chance in its hands and let it slip away. The Eagles are now moving on to the 2013 season in hopes of making it to the 2014 National Title, and looking at who they should have back they will have an excellent chance to do just that.
I wasn't sure if spicy was going to post a recap or not so I just went ahead and did a quick one. Congrats again spicy, BC will be coming for revenge in the future!!
