In what was by far the most dominant performance of the season, Clemson throttled the Va Tech offense and survived two early turnovers to defeat the Hokies 37 - 20.
Early in the game it looked like it might be a different outcome. QB Kyle Parker was intercepted on his first two drives. The first was returned for a TD by the Hokie defense. The second was in Tiger territory, however the Clemson defense held Va Tech to a field goal and a 10 - 0 lead. After that the Tiger offense came to life mounting two second quarter TD drives to take a 14 - 10 lead. Va Tech answered with a late field goal to make the score 14 - 13 at the half.
The tiger offense continued to move the ball at will on the Hokies, scoring on the opening drive of the second half. A missed XP would leave the score at 20 - 13. Clemson added another TD before Va Tech finally answered with one of their own making the score 27 - 20.
The Tigers would pull away adding a TD and a FG in the fourth for the final margin. This win was huge as it keeps Clemson in contention for the division title despite the heartbreaking loss last week to NCSU.
