BC Offense Returns to Form, Eagles Gain Bowl Eligibility
Clemson, South Carolina-- In what is a little known rivalry Boston College faced off against Clemson for the O'Rourk-McFadden Trophy. Boston College was looking to rebound from two straight poor offensive games and were facing the most talented team they had face all year. Clemson is the first target in that stretch and BC certainly made a statement as they dominated the game in nearly all phases.
Momah with the Nice Catch, Rettig has a Knack for Spreading the Ball Around
The Eagles knew it was important to get off to a fast start and on their first drive they marched into Clemson territory before being forced to kick a 39 yard field goal. After a stop by the BC defense the Eagles were on the move yet again, but again once they got close kicker Nick Freese was brought on and this time he booted through a 43 yard field goal giving the Eagles a 6-0 lead. Clemson was able to answer on their next drive when QB Boyd ran in from 11 yards out. Suddenly Clemson had the lead despite being severely outplayed by Boston College. The Eagles would not get discouraged though as big pass to TE Pantale would eventually lead to Harris punching it in from the goal line for the Eagles' first TD and putting them up 13-7.
Pantale has Become a Big Play Threat
The Eagles would take the field on defense again and would shut down the Clemson offense for the third time in the game. BC would start with pretty favorable field position and would look to go up to score. The Eagles struck quickly as Rettig found an open Ifeanyi Momah and put the ball in a perfect spot. Momah didn't even have to break stride on his way to a 66 yard touchdown and a 13 point Boston College lead.

The Boston College offense wouldn't be done scoring in the half. After another stop by the defense the Boston College offense crossed midfield for the fifth time in as many drives. For the third time they were forced into a field goal try. Freese came through again putting the Eagles on top 23-7. Things were looking good for BC as there was less than 1:30 left in the half and Clemson had a lot of field to travel. On the first play Boyd found a receiver open in the flat. he broke a couple of tackles and ran in for a 76 yard TD. The easy touchdown would put a damper on a great half for BC, but they still held a lead 23-14.
Both defenses would play well to start to the half exchanging stops. Clemson would have the ball and and put together a nice drive and threaten to reclaim the lead. BC'd defense would step up and hold the Tigers to a field goal but the lead would shrink to six. The Eagles would need to respond and did just that. Montel Harris would find some open space and get them inside the five. Harris would score from 2 yards out to extend the lead to 30-17.

After a stop by the BC defense the Eagles were looking to put the nail in the coffin but a sack would force a punt back to Clemson. Clemson would cross midfield and look to cut the lead to one score. With the ball at the 30 Boyd would connect with his receiver in the endzone and suddenly the pressure was back on Boston College as they only had a one score lead. Looking to get a big play the Eagles handed the ball to Kimble on a sweep and Kimble out ran the defense for a 77 yard touchdown and put BC back up 36-24 after a missed two point conversion.

The ball came out and DT Ramsey picked it up and rumbled his way home for the first touchdown of his career. With the win Boston College improves to 6-0 and 3-0 in conference play.
