Arizona was looking to come off strong, from their solid win last week. However, playing their in state rival Arizona State. it wasnt going to be easy. Both teams basically traded outcomes off possessions for the whole game, except for a few Arizona blunders, which ended up giving the Sun Devils the game.
It was the typical aerial attack from the Wildcats, as they passed for over 400 yards(419) on the day. 348 coming from senior Nick Foles. However, his two interceptions thrown were costly. The Wildcat defense, the worst in the country showed their best, which is obviosuly the worst, giving up 438 yards of offense while surrendering 41 points. All five of Arizona State's touchdowns came through the air. They also ran for 140 yards, which Arizona's defense couldnt stop of course.
The final outcome was 41-31 Arizona State, which gives them the annual Territorial Cup. Although the loss, Arizona still leads the series, 44-38-1. The series dates back to 1899, when Arizona State won 11-2.
