Harris would hit Travis Benjamin from 6 yrds out to go up 14-7. Brooks would add a 1 yrd TD to again tie the game. After Rutgers defense stimied the Miami offense inside the 10, Miami would kick a FG to go up 17-14Savage would then take it in on a 5 yrd scamper with 25 seconds to go in the half to put Rutgers on top 21-17 at the half. Miami would add another FG to make it 24-20 to start the 4th quarter. After 2 4th quarter pics by Savage, who had not thrown a pic all season, James would plunge in fro 3 yrds out to put Miami ahead 27-24 early in the 4th. The teams would trade possesions with Miami missing a key 42 yrd FG giving Rutgers the ball with 2:08 to play. Rutgers would take full advantage and drive down to the Miami 14 yrd line. Savage would then scramble out of the pocket and walk in from 14 yrds out to put Rutgers ahead 31-27 with 27 secondson the clock. Armed with a full compliment of timeouts, Harris took to the air and quickly moved Miami to the Rutgers 28 yrd line with 8 seconds left. Harris would attempt a fade that was knocked down running the clock down to 4 seconds. The final play of the game saw Harris hit Aldarius Johnson across the middle and Johnson would break one tackle and hurdle another until JR FS Khaseem Greene would make the tackle at the 1 yrd line sealing the victory for Rutgers. This is the second straight week where Greene has made a key defensive play to seal a Rutgers victory. Rutgers will complete their brutal 4 game opening schedule and the third leg of a road trip from hell with their Big East opener to #18 WVU. Rutgers lost last year to WVU in Morgantown, so this game has been circled on the schedule as a Revenge game.
