Cal came into the game against Washington State after 2 straight weeks of tough opponents and almost paid for it. The final score doesn't reflect how close the majority of the game was. Through 3 quarters, the score was only 28-7. After the start of the 4th, both teams racked off touchdowns with Cal extending the lead on recovering onside kicks that Washington St was force to attempt trying to get back in the game. The game provide little highlights except for the final play of the 1st half when Cal QB Bridgford threw a laser strike for a 55yd TD to WR M.Calvin as time expired in stride in the endzone. Other than that is was relatively boring compared to the past 2 weeks for Cal. With their final challenge of the season coming next week, Coach B hopes the slow start this week doesn't carry over to next as they will need another flawless game to clinch the Pac-10 title.
